Torsten Burmester is Lord Mayor of the City of Cologne. He has many years of management experience in administration, politics and sport.
Before moving to Cologne City Hall, he was Chairman of the Board of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and held senior positions within the state administration of North Rhine-Westphalia.
His professional career stands for the successful management of complex organizations, strategic development and the design of change processes in the public sector.
